Ashwagandha is also know as withania somnifera, or Indian ginseng. In Sanskrit Ashwagandha means 'the smell of a horse,' suggesting that the herb imparts the vigor and strength of a stallion. It is widely used in Ayurveda. Ashwagandha belongs to the same family as the tomato, and is a shrub with oval leaves and yellow flowers. It has red fruit about the size of a chick pea. It is often called Indian ginseng because, like ginseng, ashwagandha is a non-specific tonic and adaptogen. Ashwagandha root rejuvenates without being over stimulating.*
We have pioneered a technology that combines the CO2 extracts, with hydrophilic extracts to create a new generation of extract that is very powerful but still able to be delivered in a vegetarian capsule. It is in this way that we can bind together extracts from both polarities of the plant to create a complete extract that is supercharged.
